What does the Satcharita say about Maya and the path to liberation from it?

📖 Chapter 50

In Chapter 50, Maya is described as the entire illusion of name and form, a supreme and indescribable force that is very difficult to overcome. The text states that the very pulse of imagination is the dwelling place of Maya, and that the states of both bondage and liberation arise from this imagination. The path to liberation from Maya's grip is through knowledge, based on the unassailable Vedic theorem, "Only from knowledge comes liberation." However, a crucial condition is mentioned: the dawn of this liberating knowledge is impossible without the destruction of sinful karma. One who attains pure knowledge is someone who has consciously abandoned Maya by resolve and is no longer subject to its bondage.
