What does it mean to truly surrender to Sai Baba, according to the prayer in Chapter 26?

📖 Chapter 26

The prayer in Chapter 26 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra portrays a profound and total form of surrender. The author expresses this by declaring he is laying his ego at Sai Baba's feet and that from that point on, there is no 'me-ness' left in him. This surrender goes beyond mere words; he asks Baba to take away his body-consciousness and the very experience of pleasure and pain. He even asks Baba to either move him like a puppet, completely restraining his mind, or for Baba to become his 'me-ness' and experience life's joys and sorrows on his behalf. This illustrates that true surrender, as described in this chapter, is the complete dissolution of the individual ego, allowing the Guru to take full control.
