What does it mean that the Sadguru is 'Aptakama,' and how does this quality, as described in Chapter 16, affect his relationship with devotees?

📖 Chapter 16

In Chapter 16, the Sadguru is described as 'Aptakama,' which means one whose desires are already fulfilled. Because He is complete and without personal wants, He has no need for anything from His disciples. This quality fundamentally shapes his interactions. The chapter explains that the Sadguru's purpose is not to take, but to give. He fulfills the devotee's desire to serve, and in doing so, makes the devotee desireless. He is an ocean of Truth, Consciousness, and Bliss, so He has little regard for outward rituals. However, He accepts offerings made with sincere faith to satisfy the devotee's heart, while rejecting anything offered with pride, demonstrating that the inner state of the devotee is what truly matters to Him.
