Chapter 53 portrays Hemadpant (Annasahab) as a virtuous and skilled author who was also remarkably frugal. He was considered a "jewel among poets" whose words flowed with divine blessing. The chapter reveals his unique writing process: he would write on scraps of paper to avoid waste, feeling compassion for even "lifeless scraps" and wishing for them to be redeemed through the service of Sai Baba.
