What does Chapter 21 say about why some people fail to see or appreciate a Saint even when they are physically close?

📖 Chapter 21

Chapter 21 of the Sai Satcharitra addresses this very point with a strong principle. The text explains that 'Unless good fortune dawns, One does not encounter Saints and Sages.' It goes further to state that even if a Saint 'is near one's pillow, the sinful person cannot see Him.' The author uses his own past experience of not visiting Pir Maulana in Bandra as a personal example of this truth, explaining that he was prevented by his own pride and what he terms 'ill-luck.' Therefore, according to this chapter, physical proximity is insufficient; a person requires good fortune and God's grace to truly perceive and benefit from the presence of a Saint.
