What does Chapter 19 teach about the relationship between the Soul (Atma) and the body?

📖 Chapter 19

According to the teachings in Chapter 19, the union of the Soul (Atma) and the body is a supreme and unavoidable exception to the rule that friendship exists between those of similar nature. Despite being inherently different—the body is perishable while the Soul is changeless and imperishable—their affection for one another is extraordinary. The chapter notes that they cannot bear to be without each other, and it is this immense love that perpetuates the cycle of worldly existence (Samsara). It clarifies that the Soul is distinct from the body, senses, and mind, being self-luminous, pure consciousness, and formless.
