What does Chapter 16 teach about the Sadguru's attitude towards offerings and service from his disciples?

📖 Chapter 16

Chapter 16 explains that the Sadguru is "Aptakama," meaning one whose desires are always fulfilled, so he has no personal need for a disciple's service or offerings. However, he accepts them for the disciple's benefit, to fulfill their desire to serve and ultimately make them desireless. The chapter draws a sharp contrast based on the devotee's intention: if a simple leaf or flower is offered with sincere faith, He accepts it with great love. Conversely, if an offering is made with pride, He turns His face away. This teaching from Chapter 16 emphasizes that for the Guru, the inner state of faith and humility is infinitely more valuable than any outward ritual or material offering.
