What does Baba say about the nature of the human body and the urgency of spiritual practice?

📖 Chapter 8

According to Chapter 8, the human body is described as an impure and transient vessel, a "house for worms and insects" and a "mess of foul-smelling urine and feces." It is called a "direct prison for the soul" and is as fleeting as a "peepal leaf." Despite this, it is also the only vehicle through which the Lord can be reached. The urgency for spiritual practice arises because birth and death are constantly attached to us. Chapter 8 warns that life can depart suddenly, "without even the ear touching the ear (in a whisper)," and that time is always counting down our lifespan. Therefore, every moment should be utilized for spiritual progress to escape this cycle.
