What do the scriptures say about Baba's life before he started living in the mosque?

Before he made the mosque his permanent residence, Sai Baba lived in a place called the Takia, which is described as a resting place for Fakirs. Chapter 5 tells us that he remained there for a long time, undisturbed. During this period, his devotional expressions were quite vibrant and musical. He would tie bells to his feet and dance beautifully. He would accompany his dancing by playing a small tambourine, known as a khanjiri, and would also sing sweetly with love. This paints a picture of a different phase of his life before the transformation of the mosque began.
