What did Sai Baba typically ask from the people who came for his darshan?

Whenever anyone came for darshan and bowed at His feet, regardless of their faith as Hindu, Muslim, or Parsi, Sai Baba would ask them for Dakshina, which is an offering. As Chapter 14 explains, this wasn't limited to small amounts. He might ask for one or two rupees, or He could ask for hundreds, thousands, and even lakhs. The amount was chosen as He pleased, and this practice was a central part of the interaction for those seeking His blessings in the Masjid.
