What did Sai Baba's Guru mean when he asked for 'two paise', and what is the significance of this request?

📖 Chapter 19

According to the teachings in Chapter 19, when Sai Baba's Guru asked for 'two paise', he was not requesting actual money. Baba clarifies that his Guru was 'Purnakam' (one whose desires were fulfilled) and had no need for worldly wealth. Instead, the two paise were symbolic representations of two crucial virtues: Faith (Nishtha) and Patience (Saburi). As Baba explains, 'Faith (Nishtha) and Patience (Saburi)—these were the two paise, nothing else.' The significance of this request lies in the Guru's lesson that the most valuable offering a disciple can make is not material, but spiritual. By giving these two 'paise' to his Guru, Baba pleased his 'Guru-Mother' and demonstrated his readiness for true discipleship, as these qualities are essential for spiritual progress.
