What did Sai Baba's Guru actually mean when he asked for 'two paise' as dakshina?

📖 Chapter 19

In Chapter 19, the narrator explains that when his Guru asked for two paise, it was not a request for worldly money. The Guru, described as one whose desires were fulfilled (Purnakam), had no use for gold. This request was a test for the disciple. The two paise symbolized the essential virtues of Faith (Nishtha) and Patience (Saburi). The narrator clarifies, "Faith (Nishtha) and Patience (Saburi)—these were the two paise, nothing else; I gave them to him then and there, and thus my Guru-Mother was pleased with me." Therefore, the Guru was seeking a commitment of these two spiritual qualities from his disciple, not a monetary transaction.
