What did Sai Baba mean when he said his Guru asked for two paise? Was it literal money?

📖 Chapter 19

According to Chapter 19, Sai Baba's Guru did not ask for literal money. Baba explains that his Guru's desires were already fulfilled and he had no use for worldly wealth. The two 'paise' he was asked for were symbolic. Baba clarifies this by stating, "Faith (Nishtha) and Patience (Saburi)—these were the two paise, nothing else; I gave them to him then and there, and thus my Guru-Mother was pleased with me." Therefore, the payment was a metaphysical one, representing a disciple's complete offering of unwavering faith and steadfast patience, which Baba considered the most valuable assets in a spiritual journey.
