Sai Baba's special connection to Udi was evident in both his actions and his songs. As described in Chapter 33, he personally distributed the ash from the ever-burning Dhuni, applying it to devotees' foreheads and blessing them. Beyond this daily ritual, when he was filled with joy and became absorbed in love, he was heard repeatedly singing a sweet refrain: "Ramate Rama Ayoji Ayoji, Udiyan ki Goniyan Layoji," which means "Rama rejoices, O mother, bringing bags of Udi." This song, sung again and again, reveals the immense joy and significance he associated with the supremely auspicious Udi, which his Dhuni produced in countless bags.
