What did Sai Baba do for sick people before he started giving out Udi?

Before he became known for giving Udi (ash) for healing, Sai Baba actively provided medical care. Chapter 0 states that Maharaj used to give medicines to people and never charged any money for this service. He was deeply involved in their care. If a patient was not being looked after properly, he would personally go and tend to them himself. The text mentions that there were still many people alive at the time of writing whom Maharaj had personally treated and cared for. He later confirmed this to the author, stating, "Kaka, I used to give medicine to people before."
