What conditions did Kaka Mahajani's companion set before visiting Sai Baba, and did he follow them?

As described in Chapter 35, Kaka Mahajani's companion, who was skeptical of saints and idol worship, agreed to the trip to Shirdi only after setting two specific conditions. He explicitly told his friend, Kaka Mahajani, "We will never bow our heads, nor provide any Dakshina." He did not, however, end up following these self-imposed rules. The moment he encountered Sai Baba, he was so astonished by Baba's voice, which sounded exactly like his late father's, that he melted inside and immediately bowed his head at Baba's feet, thus breaking his first condition. His subsequent restlessness when not asked for Dakshina indicates his original stance on the second condition had also completely dissolved.
