What circumstances brought Madhavrao Deshpande to Nagar, and how did he end up agreeing to travel with Dixit?

Madhavrao Deshpande was compelled to travel to Nagar with his family after his father-in-law sent a telegram claiming his mother-in-law was gravely ill.
