What causes a soul to be deluded and fail to recognize the all-pervading Brahman, according to this chapter?

📖 Chapter 37

According to Chapter 37, the divine principle, Brahman, is all-pervading, present in all moving and non-moving things. It is inherently devoid of worldly qualities. A soul becomes deluded by ignorance when this pure Brahman is combined with adjuncts, or 'upadhis'. This combination makes the principle appear as if it were not Brahman. The core of this delusion is the knowledge of difference—the belief that "Parabrahman is different from me; I am not that." The text states that he who has such knowledge is always subject to the cycle of death and rebirth.
