The quarrel between Damu Anna and Mavshibai arose while they were both serving Sai Baba. As described in Chapter 24, Mavshibai was vigorously massaging Baba's stomach, causing her to sway. Her face came very close to Damu Anna's, and she humorously accused him of trying to kiss her. Anna, an elderly man, took offense, feeling she was the one who initiated the closeness and was now unfairly blaming him. He rolled up his sleeves, ready to argue. Seeing the conflict escalate, Sai Baba intervened with a clever trick.
