What are the two distinct paths of life described in Chapter 17, and what are their fundamental characteristics?

📖 Chapter 17

Chapter 17 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra introduces two opposing paths: Shreya and Preya. Shreya is described as the path of the Good or Salvation, which is the form of discrimination and pure Knowledge (Vidya). It is the path chosen by the wise. In contrast, Preya is the path of the Pleasant or Worldly Joy, which is the form of ignorance (Avidya) and a lack of discrimination. The text explains that just as light and darkness are distinct, so too are these paths. A person whose mind is drawn to Preya, craving worldly objects, falls away from their true self-interest.
