Chapter 17 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra introduces two opposing paths: Shreya and Preya. Shreya is described as the path of the Good or Salvation, which is the form of discrimination and pure Knowledge (Vidya). It is the path chosen by the wise. In contrast, Preya is the path of the Pleasant or Worldly Joy, which is the form of ignorance (Avidya) and a lack of discrimination.
