What are the two different motivations for using Guru biography texts, and which one is considered superior?

📖 Chapter 0

Guru biography texts, much like other spiritual knowledge texts, can be used in two distinct ways: with desire (Kamya) and with a selfless mind (Nishkam). As explained in Chapter 0, the 'Kamya' approach is undertaken for worldly gains, such as achieving prosperity or seeking relief from worries, calamities, and diseases. The 'Nishkam' approach, however, is performed with the selfless goal of attaining liberation from the cycle of birth and death. The text clearly states that Nishkam Guru service, regardless of its form, will always be considered superior.
