What are the risks and requirements associated with the path of Knowledge (Jnana) that make perseverance so critical?

📖 Chapter 19

The path of Knowledge (Jnana) is presented as one requiring immense perseverance due to its inherent risks. Chapter 19 illustrates this by comparing Jnana to a Ramphal fruit, which is only sweet if one has the patience for it to ripen fully on the tree. If it falls, it becomes pungent. This analogy highlights the precision needed. The text states that a man of knowledge is not fearless and 'has the fear of falling.' He must achieve victory over the Siddhis (powers) and cannot afford any negligence on the path. This implies that without unwavering dedication and patience, the spiritual aspirant can easily go astray, making the arduous journey ultimately fruitless or even detrimental.
