What are the main forms of delusion and pride that prevent people from attaining true knowledge?

📖 Chapter 50

Chapter 50 identifies specific delusions and forms of pride that act as Maya and are significant obstacles to attaining true knowledge. One major delusion is the strong identification with the physical world, expressed as "I am the body, mine are wife and home." This leads to being completely surrounded by the 'ropes of thirst for sons, cattle, etc.' Another significant barrier is intellectual pride. The text describes people who, though skilled in scriptures and possessing genius, become filled with great pride, believing "there is no other equal to me." This pride is a direct cause for dissatisfaction and is a form of Maya that the wise must remove at the very beginning for true knowledge to arise.
