What are the consequences for a person who lacks patience, even if they are highly knowledgeable or virtuous?

📖 Chapter 19

Chapter 19 teaches that a lack of patience renders a person's life meaningless, regardless of their other qualities. The text states that a 'human being without patience is in a pitiable state' and that for such a person, 'whether he is a scholar or a person of great virtue, life is in vain without it.' This idea is reinforced with the analogy of a stone and a gem being polished on a whetstone. While the process is the same for both, the gem becomes a brilliant jewel, but the stone remains just a smooth stone. This implies that without the inherent quality of patience, even with spiritual guidance or learning, a person cannot achieve true brilliance or spiritual realization.
