What are Shraddha and Saburi, and why are they important?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 2

According to the teachings presented in the Shri Sai Satcharitra, Shraddha means faith and Saburi means patience. These two qualities are described as absolutely essential for any spiritual progress. As author Hemadpant explains in Chapter 2, he came to understand this through his own experiences. The text makes a definitive statement: 'Without faith (Shraddha) and patience (Saburi), not a bit of the spiritual goal is achieved.' This principle is presented as a firm scriptural truth, reinforced by the author's personal journey of learning humility under his Guru, Sai Baba. Therefore, cultivating unwavering faith and patient perseverance is considered the foundation for attaining any spiritual objective.
