What are Parayans, and why are comprehensive biographies like the 'Shri Sai Satcharita' considered ideal for them?

A 'Parayan' or 'Saptah' is a devotional reading of a sacred text, often performed over a set period. As explained in Chapter 0, performing Parayans of a detailed poetic Guru biography is a significant form of Guru service. Shorter biographies, sometimes only two or three pages long, are not suitable for this immersive practice. In contrast, comprehensive and detailed works like the 'Shri Sai Satcharita' are specifically highlighted as being ideal for Parayans because their depth allows for sustained study and devotion, enabling the community of devotees to collectively serve the Guru and achieve their life's purpose.
