As explained in Chapter 0, Parayans and Saptahs are devotional readings of a saint's biography. By studying and performing these readings of a detailed poetic Guru biography, a writer performs Guru service. When other devotees also engage in these Parayans, the writer gains the merit of serving God in humanity (Jan-Janardan) and public service. This practice helps other devotees achieve the purpose of their lives. For a Parayan to be effective, the biography must be comprehensive, not just a few pages long like those found in some of Shri Dasganu Maharaj's works.
What are Parayans and Saptahs, and how do they contribute to spreading a saint's teachings and serving the community?
