Amir Shakkar was suffering from a severe case of rheumatism. When he approached Sai Baba and narrated his illness in detail, praying for deliverance from his sorrow, Baba provided a unique remedy. As described in Chapter 22, instead of a physical medicine, Baba instructed Amir to stay steadily in the Chavadi. This directive, to reside in a specific place despite its condition, was to be accepted as the ultimate cure, as Baba's medicine was simply His word.
