What activities and objects were found in the mosque where Sai Baba lived, and what do they signify about his nature?

📖 Chapter 7

The mosque where Sai Baba resided was unlike any other, as described in Chapter 7. It was filled with objects and activities that blurred the lines between Hindu and Muslim practices, signifying his universal and all-embracing nature. A sacred fire, or Dhuni, burned continuously, which is a central element in Hindu ascetic traditions. The sounds of bells and conches, hallmarks of a Hindu temple, were heard in the mosque. Constant Bhajan (devotional singing) and the ritual washing of feet (worship) also took place there. Alongside these spiritual elements, there were items for daily life, such as a sack of wheat and a grinding stone, which Baba used. The presence of a Tulsi Vrindavan, an altar for the holy basil sacred to Hindus, further underscored that this mosque was a place of worship for all, reflecting that Baba himself was neither Hindu nor Muslim but a holy incarnation for everyone.
