Were the miracles in Shirdi just random displays of power, or did they serve a deeper spiritual purpose? Please explain using the grape incident.

📖 Chapter 35

The miracles performed by Sai Baba were never random; they were purposeful acts of spiritual transformation, as the grape incident in Chapter 35 clearly illustrates. Another devotee, Tarkhad, mentioned that in Shirdi, one's desires could be fulfilled. However, the miracle for Boss Dharamsee was not about fulfilling a desire but about dismantling his spiritual obstacles. Baba knew Dharamsee's specific dislike for seeded grapes and his internal skepticism. The miracle was precisely tailored to this inner state. By transforming the grapes, Baba proved his omniscience and power, causing Dharamsee's ego to drop and 'love for the saint' to be born. As Chapter 35 reveals, this confirmed to Dharamsee that 'What is impossible for these saints?' The miracle was an instrument for dissolving doubt and cultivating faith.
