Walk me through the entire story of Cholkar, from his initial problem to the ultimate spiritual teaching he received from Sai Baba.

📖 Chapter 15

The story of Cholkar in Chapter 15 begins with his financial desperation, as his livelihood depended on passing an examination. He made a vow to Sai Baba that if he passed, he would distribute sugar candy in Shirdi. By Baba's grace, he passed, but his poverty delayed the fulfillment of his vow. During this time, Cholkar gave up sugar entirely as a personal penance. When he finally reached Shirdi and fulfilled his vow, Baba demonstrated his omniscience by telling Mr. Jog to give Cholkar tea "well-filled with sugar." This miracle confirmed Cholkar's faith, after which Baba gave him a profound teaching. He explained that He resides in the devotee's heart as the inner self, is always with them regardless of distance, and is present in all beings, emphasizing their essential oneness.
