To build a strong spiritual community, what personal attitudes must an individual devotee cultivate and which should they avoid?

📖 Chapter 37

To contribute positively to a spiritual community, an individual must cultivate specific inner attitudes while avoiding others. Chapter 37 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra identifies adharma (unrighteousness), ignorance, anger, and hatred as the 'nooses of death' which must be overcome. Instead of these, a devotee should aspire to have unwavering devotion fixed at the Guru's feet and an eternal love for His name. The text also highlights the importance of seeing Divinity in all beings. By moving beyond the deluded state of seeing oneself as separate from the divine and by crossing over the negative tendencies of anger and hatred, one can become a pillar of a strong, fearless, and spiritually coherent community.
