The Chavadi where Sai Baba sent Amir Shakkar was extremely inhospitable. It was freely inhabited by lizards, house lizards, and poisonous scorpions. Lepers also stayed there. The text describes garbage piled in the back, seventeen knee-deep holes, and constant dampness from the ground below and rain from above.
