Mhalasapati was another devotee who had an extremely close relationship with Maharaj. As noted in Chapter 0, Maharaj would alternate sleeping between the Masjid and the Chavadi. On the nights Maharaj slept in the Masjid, Mhalasapati would devotedly sit with him until dawn, and they would have very affectionate conversations. This routine of sitting in the Masjid all night every other day continued until Mhalasapati passed away. He was described as highly advanced, completely selfless, and a source of guidance and joy for other devotees, serving as a place of rest for them after Maharaj.
