According to Chapter 4, Bhagwantrao Kshirsagar’s father was a devout worshipper of the deity Vitthal and had an idol in their home. After his father passed away, Bhagwantrao neglected this tradition; the worship and food offerings (Naivedya) ceased, and he even skipped his father's Shraddha, or death anniversary ceremony. When Bhagwantrao came to Shirdi, Sai Baba, who referred to the father as his friend, revealed his knowledge of this neglect. Baba stated, "He never offers food (Naivedya); he keeps me hungry too. He keeps Vitthal hungry too, that’s why I brought him to Shirdi." This shows that Baba brought Bhagwantrao to Shirdi specifically to remind him of his duties and guide him back to the path of worship.
