The text describes the knowledge of the Self as subtle and difficult to grasp. What makes it so challenging, and what is the prescribed path to acquiring it?

📖 Chapter 17

The knowledge of the Self is challenging because, as Chapter 17 clarifies, it is hidden by our worldly tendencies and the constant enjoyment of external objects through the senses. This makes the knowledge very subtle and difficult to see. The path to acquiring it is therefore an internal one that requires significant discipline. It involves restraining the senses, reversing natural tendencies, and achieving a vision of the inner Self. The process begins with renouncing all desires and surrendering to the Sadguru. Ultimately, one must slowly turn the heart back from worldly objects and stabilize it in the form of the Self to acquire this deep, blissful knowledge.
