The scriptures often praise heaven, but Chapter 37 seems to have a different perspective. What is Sai's teaching on the value of heaven versus life on Earth?

📖 Chapter 37

Chapter 37 presents a unique perspective on heaven, questioning its ultimate value. It argues that the desire for a heavenly abode, often attained through difficult penance, is misguided if it lacks the remembrance and chanting of God's name. The text dismisses heaven as merely a place for sensual enjoyment, equating the pleasure found there to that of a donkey wallowing in a dung-heap. It states that one falls from heaven once their merit is exhausted. In contrast, the earth-world is described as being of profound importance. Even a fleeting life on earth, when every action is offered to God, can lead to a state of fearlessness, making it more valuable than a place without devotion to Hari and the Guru.
