Chapter 37 describes heaven as a divine state free from disease, worry, sorrow, hunger, thirst, and the fear of death, where the soul moves fearlessly. However, it is also critiqued as being merely a place for sensual enjoyment. The text questions the value of such a place, even if attained through difficult sacrifices and charity, if it lacks the remembrance of Lord Narayana. It concludes that if a place is devoid of chanting Govinda's name, it is of no use, prioritizing devotion over heavenly pleasures.
The scripture describes heaven but also seems to critique it. What is heaven like, and why might it not be the ultimate goal for a devotee?
