Chapter 37 argues that the earth-world is of profound importance, even more so than heaven. It questions the desire for a heavenly abode which is merely a place for sensual enjoyment and lacks the remembrance of Lord Narayana. The text points out that one falls from heaven after their merit is exhausted. In contrast, though life on earth may be fleeting, a person who offers every action to God can attain a state of fearlessness. The text concludes that a place without devotees, stories of Hari and the Guru, and worship of God is useless, making the devotional potential of the earth-world superior.
The Satcharitra mentions both heaven and earth. Why is life on earth considered more valuable than a place in heaven?
