The Satcharitra hints at a past life for the tiger that died. What was its supposed karmic backstory?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 31

Chapter 31 speculates on the tiger's past karma to explain the profound event of its liberation. The text suggests that the creature might have been a meritorious person in a previous life who, out of intellectual pride, insulted a devotee of Hari. As a result of the devotee's curse, he was condemned to a cruel birth as a tiger (Verses 152-153). However, it seems a counter-curse was also in effect, which ultimately led him to Sai Baba's feet. Through Sai's darshan (sacred sight), the tiger's sins were burned away, the bonds of its past karma were broken, and it was freed from the suffering of its animal body, thus attaining salvation on its own (Verses 154-156).
