The Satcharita mentions Kakasaheb Dixit's 'lame' mind. What did he mean by this, and why did he believe only a Guru like Sai Baba could help?

📖 Chapter 51

In Chapter 51, Kakasaheb Dixit uses the metaphor of a 'lame' mind to describe his spiritual struggles to Nana Chandorkar. He explained that despite exhausting himself with spiritual practices and trying to maintain control, his mind remained unsteady and would slip away without his notice. He felt a profound inability to keep it focused, calling this unsteadiness the 'lameness of my mind.' Dixit believed that only a Sadguru of Sai Baba's stature could provide the necessary grace to heal this internal affliction. He had lost hope in his own efforts, realizing that attaining a steady mind and supreme spiritual bliss required the intervention of a true Guru, which is why he resolved to take Baba's darshan.
