The book says 'we have no desire for' the four types of liberation. Why would a spiritual text reject liberation? Isn't that the ultimate goal?

📖 Chapter 50

Chapter 50 presents a nuanced perspective on liberation, suggesting it is not the primary focus for the devotee. The text poses the question, 'We were never bound in the first place; what connection do we have with liberation?' Instead of seeking freedom from a bondage it views as perhaps illusory, the prayer within Chapter 50 asks for something else: 'Let steady devotion to Sai be firmly attached; this is our supreme attainment.' The emphasis is shifted from the goal of liberation to the experiential state of constant, non-dual devotion. According to the text, the awakening of this devotion is what purifies the heart and leads to the 'natural state' (Sahaj-sthiti), which is presented as a more direct and desirable attainment.
