The first meeting between Maharaj and Chandbhai is detailed in Chapter 0. Chandbhai was walking through a forest searching for his lost horse when he saw Maharaj sitting under a tree. Maharaj, though a stranger, called out to him and offered him a smoke from a chillum. When Chandbhai explained his predicament, Maharaj told him not to worry, pointing to a nearby hedge and stating the horse was there. Chandbhai was astonished to find his horse exactly where Maharaj had said. Following this, another miracle occurred when Maharaj, needing a fire for the chillum, simply struck his tongs on the ground and produced flames.
