While returning from the Naur market on his horse, Kashiram was accosted by Bhil robbers. According to Chapter 32, the thieves initially robbed other carts but then turned their attention to Kashiram. As Chapter 33 describes, they tried to snatch a small bundle he was carrying, mistakenly believing it contained treasure. In reality, the bundle held only powdered sugar, which Kashiram carried to feed ants on the advice of a saint named Janakidas Baba. Because this act of charity was so dear to him, Kashiram refused to let the bundle go. He picked up a dropped sword and killed two of the thieves before a third struck him on the head with an axe, knocking him unconscious. The thieves left him for dead, but he eventually regained consciousness and was taken to Shirdi for recovery.
Tell me about the time Kashiram was attacked by robbers. What were they after and what happened?
