Tell me about the origins of the annual fair on Ram Navami. Who started it and were there any obstacles?

The idea for an annual fair, or Jatra/Urs, in honor of Maharaj was first proposed by his devotee Gopalrao Gund. As recounted in Chapter 0, he shared this idea with Tatya Patil, Dada Kote Patil, and Madhavrao Deshpande, who all liked it and agreed to help organize it. However, the plan faced significant opposition from the Kulkarni at that time, who created obstacles that led to the collector issuing an order prohibiting the fair. Despite this, an order to permit the fair was eventually obtained. It was by Maharaj's direct command that the fair was decided to be held on Ram Navami, a tradition that has continued ever since.
