As detailed in Chapter 28 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra, a devout lady in Berhampur had a dream of Sai Baba asking for khichdi. This vision deeply affected her and her husband, an officer in the Post Department. After his transfer to Akola, the couple felt the pull of Sai's "extraordinary maya" and decided to make the pilgrimage to Shirdi. On their way, they worshipped at Gomati tirtha before finally arriving. They stayed in Shirdi for two months, finding great joy and fulfillment in lovingly taking Baba's darshan and serving His feet daily. Baba was also said to be pleased with their devotion, particularly with the offering of khichdi that was the initial reason for their journey.
