Tell me about the Chavadi procession. When did this tradition start, and what was it like?

The Chavadi procession was a regular, celebratory event where Sai Baba would go to sleep at the Chavadi every other night, alternating with the Masjid. According to Chapter 37, this routine continued until His Samadhi. While the alternate-night sleeping arrangement was ongoing, the more formal worship, bhajan, and adoration as part of the Chavadi event began on December 10th, 1910. The procession itself was a grand affair, starting after midnight bhajans. The path was decorated with arches and flags, lamps were lit everywhere, and the horse Shyamakarna stood decorated. The procession began with music from horns and trumpets and the spectacle of fireworks.
