Sai's teachings seem to de-emphasize the traditional idea of heaven. What is the true "heavenly state" we should strive for, and how does this differ from sensual enjoyment?

📖 Chapter 37

Chapter 37 provides a deep philosophical insight, contrasting heaven with a more profound spiritual goal. It describes the conventional heavenly home as merely a place for sensual enjoyment, from which one falls after their merit is exhausted. The text boldly states there is no difference in the quality of sensual pleasure, whether it's Indra in a garden or a donkey in a dung-heap. Instead, the true "heavenly state" described in the chapter is the Vairaj (the Cosmic Being) itself—a state of being free from mental grief, disease, worry, sorrow, and the fear of death. It is a state of fearlessness and non-duality, achieved by realizing the divine principle that pervades all of existence.
