Sai's teachings seem to de-emphasize the pursuit of heaven. How should a community of followers interpret the concepts of heaven, death, and the earthly world according to Chapter 37?

📖 Chapter 37

According to the philosophy in Chapter 37, a community should not focus on attaining a heavenly abode for sensual enjoyment. The text explains that death is simply the manifest form returning to the unmanifest, and the true 'nooses of death' are unrighteousness, ignorance, anger, and hatred. True heaven is not a place but a state of being: the realization of the Virat (Cosmic) Self-form, free from sorrow, fear, and duality. The text argues that the earth-world is of profound importance because even a fleeting life here, when every action is offered to God, can lead to a state of fearlessness. This is superior to a heavenly stay from which one falls after their merit is exhausted.
