As detailed in Chapter 40, Baba had told Dev he would come with two others. On the day of the feast, a Sanyasi arrived at noon with two companions, and they were served a satisfying meal. However, a "veil of Maya" prevented Dev from recognizing him. Later, when Dev complained to Jog, Baba explained, "I said I would come with two others, and I went with two others. ...do you not remember the Sanyasi's guise?" This illustrates how Baba kept his word, albeit in a subtle way that tested his devotee's perception.
